Becoming a Host

Learn how hosting works and what to consider before listing your land or space.

What does a Hidden Places host do?

Hidden Places allows landowners and space owners to offer distinctive outdoor locations for guests to visit and enjoy.

As a host, you create a Place, describe the Experiences available there, manage availability and respond to booking requests.

Before you create your listing

You should make sure that you have the right to offer the land or space for guest use and that the activities you intend to offer are suitable for the location.

  • Confirm that you own the land or have the owner’s permission to use it.
  • Consider whether planning permission or temporary-use restrictions apply.
  • Check whether appropriate insurance is required.
  • Identify any hazards and consider how they will be managed.
  • Decide which facilities guests will be able to use.

How hosting works

  1. Create your host account.
  2. Add your first Place.
  3. Create one or more Experiences.
  4. Add photos and facilities.
  5. Set your availability.
  6. Connect your Stripe account.
  7. Publish your Place.
  8. Respond to booking requests.
Remember

A Place is the physical location. Experiences describe the different ways guests can book and use that location.
