What is an Experience?
An Experience describes a particular way that guests can book and use your Place.
Your Place is the physical location, such as a woodland, meadow, private lake or garden. Experiences are the activities or booking options available at that location.
One Place can have several Experiences
You do not need to create a separate Place for every activity. Instead, create one Place and add different Experiences to it.
For example, a private woodland might offer:
- Private woodland hire for photography.
- A peaceful forest-bathing session.
- An outdoor yoga or wellbeing session.
- Exclusive overnight camping.
- A private picnic or family gathering.
The woodland is the Place. Photography, yoga and camping are separate Experiences offered at that Place.
Choosing the booking type
Each Experience has a booking type that determines how guests reserve and pay for it.
- Hourly — suitable for shorter visits such as photography, dog training or yoga.
- Half-Day — suitable for activities that need several hours without requiring a full day.
- Day — suitable for exclusive daytime use of the Place.
- Nightly — suitable for camping and other overnight stays.
Writing your Experience description
Explain exactly what the guest is booking. Describe what is included, how long they can stay and how the Place can be used.
Include any important restrictions, such as maximum group size, permitted activities, arrival times, noise limits or areas that remain private.
Enjoy exclusive use of a secluded woodland clearing for a two-hour photography session. The booking includes access to the main woodland paths, a private parking space and use of the covered shelter.
Setting the price
Every Experience has its own price. This allows you to charge different amounts for different activities and booking durations.
Your price should reflect the length of the booking, exclusivity, facilities provided, preparation required and any additional costs you may incur.
Keeping Experiences accurate
Review your Experiences regularly and update them whenever the price, duration, facilities or permitted activities change.
Clear and accurate information helps guests choose the correct booking and reduces the likelihood of cancellations or misunderstandings.
